THE 2008 MAGNUM FUTURITY
Like the best such events, the Magnum Futurity was born of Fernando, Joaquin and David’s desire to support the breeders who have believed in Magnum throughout his career as a sire. Additionally, this event provides incentive for breeders to give very serious consideration to the best possible crosses, hopefully utilizing techniques of research and study similar to those employed by the Haras Mayed and Midwest teams.
Not only does a prestigious futurity such as this one offer significant financial reward, it also draws attention to and establishes credibility for winning breeders and their mares. The event also provides a tremendous showcase for the best of our amateur handlers and the trainers with whom they work.
This year, the Magnum Futurity––open to all Magnum yearlings––will be held in conjunction with the popular, world class breeders program The Iowa Gold *Star Futurity on Saturday evening, August 29th in Des Moines Iowa.
The International judge’s panel is made up of: the Arabian horse community’s favorite entertainer, Mr. Wayne Newton, an established breeders and highly recognized South American Judge Sr. Vico Rocco of Brazil, and world renowned breeder and horseman Mr. Robert Boggs.
The Champion Filly and the Champion Colt will each earn $25,000, the Reserve Champions $10,000, and each of the Top Five Champions, $5,000. The trainer of the Champion will win $10,000 and the trainer of the Reserve Champion will win $5,000. Breeders of Top Five winners will each be presented with a free breeding to Magnum.
